PostieCon ‘07, a blogging convention; is it worth the time?

The company PayPerPost surely is an active one, they’ve done a lot already to increase their exposure with various things, for example Rockstartup – their reality TV or the rumors about a big announcement coming up soon, which was made two weeks ago. Today a new concept seems to have arrived on the lands of PayPerPost, a blogging conference!

Of course this isn’t very revolutionary, in fact, many blogging conventions have been held already and perhaps hundreds of other website-related meetings as well. It does seem like they’re trying to make something nice of it in any way they can though. For instance, rather than just ‘networking’, they’ve invited various speakers that have actual meaning in the blogging or ‘new media’ industry to talk about their experiences, website and visions.

In addition to the speakers, lunch and drinks it seems like they’ve also got a big room planned to be filled up with sponsors and others who’d like to promote their company or organization, I think that should be fairly interesting as I wouldn’t be very surprised if some ‘big names’ would show up there. It’s quite a shame it’s planned to take place in Orlando, because it’s a bit of an impossible trip all the way from Europe, just for two days – I wish I could attend easier. Perhaps an XXL-episode could be made of Rockstartup guys of PPP?
