Blog income recap of January, thanks to paid blogging.
Leftblank has been my weblog for quite a while now already, but I started actively blogging on it back in October. I started blogging for PayPerPost one and a half month ago, closing towards the two months already; it’s time for a recap of my ‘earnings’ so far. I’ve planned this post for a little while already, but I was waiting for the PPP opportunity, so I could catch a little income for it as well
.
Just in case you don’t know yet, PayPerPost is a company aiming at blog marketing by allowing bloggers to post about ‘opportunities’, or advertisements, put up by advertisers and publishers. As reward for this the bloggers receive a certain amount of income, the advertisers receive traffic, exposure and perhaps even better search engine ratings; everyone’s happy.
First of all, please don’t take this as ‘pimping around’ or anything, I’m just sharing this information as others, bloggers or potential future bloggers, might find it interesting, and well, of course it’s nice to know you’ve earned some money with things you like to do; writing a weblog.
Alright, I applied for PayPerPost back in December, however, it took until January before my blog came through the submission queue due to the extreme traffic PayPerPost had during the vacation. I submitted my first PPP post back in January fourth, the post ‘Online poker grows‘, when I look back at it it was a horrible post that wasn’t offering much useful or interesting information, but it got through.
Since this 4th of January until the 31th I’ve submitted a whopping 40 posts to PayPerPost with a total worth of $318.55, not very bad, is it? This works out as almost $8 per post or roughly 12$ per day. Of this amount I’ve received $226 on my PayPal account already, the rest of it will drup in slowly in a couple of days due to the 30 day period between posting and payment.
These numbers might not really shock you, but I personally think it’s a very nice amount; especially considering my blog was ranked in the 1.4 million on Alexa back in January and had a Google PageRank of 0, making it both a low traffic and low ranked weblog; with advertisements I wouldn’t have had a chance to make that amount in any legimit way. This makes PayPerPost one of the most interestin, perhaps even the number 1, potential source of income for small weblogs. For big websites as well if you ask me, as generally speaking you’ll need a lot of traffic and advertisements to make more than $300 on your website, it might even turn out to scare your visitors away as advertisements do tend to interrupt your visitors.
My expectations for February are a little less high though, I’ve only been taking higher paying opportunities, hardly any of less than $10 as I wanted to reduce the ‘artificial’ content and write some more ‘real’ and on-topic things to make the blog more interesting to read, hopefully I’m managing to do so quite well, the traffic keeps growing at least.
I haven’t decided yet whatI’ll do with the money, I’ve spent a small part of it for some software. I suppose I’ll put the money on a savings account, that will surely come in handy next year, got to cover quite some things then and right now I’ve got pretty much like all I need – a nice feeling.
A little note: Found this post interesting and you’d like to try out PayPerPost yourself as well? Then you might be interesting in using the banner below. Clicking it will supply you with an opportunity to post about this article, rewarding you (and me) with $7,50, easy money right? I’m pretty sure it is!
