Debian 4 has been released, upgrade your sandboxes and servers now!

Unless you’re not much into tech related websites, you most likely have already heard about the new release of Debian linux a couple of days ago. This release is considered stable and it’s recommended to upgrade, support for version 3.1 will stop relatively soon. Besides this it’s also nice to stay a little up to date, many bugfixes and security fixes have been added to the long change log as well. This new version of Debian is ready for download in various flavors, like you’re used to with Linux.

As I’ve been playing around with a rented virtual private server a little, which was running Debian 3.1, I’ve decided to upgrade the thing to 4 as well. Easier to be said than done though, upgrading takes quite a bunch of steps. However, using the release notes of your version, it shouldn’t be a too difficult task to perform, if you’ve got some minor linux know-how, that is.
