Give your website an easy PageRank boost

Everyone with a website has been there once; you just got your domain and you haven’t got a clue where to start promoting your website to get some visitors and, perhaps just as important, PageRank. If you’re not sure what PageRank means, please take a look at my older post on Google’s PageRank system. To promote your website there are plenty of ways, the perhaps most efficient way is to advertise on a random (but high ranked) website or weblog on the web. The downside of that is of course that it’ll cost you money, most likely a lot of money.

Another way to get a small PR boost is to submit your website’s RSS feed to an RSS feed directory. This method also has some downsides; you do become a bit more vulnerable to people who run bots to copy content from other peoples websites in order to fill their fake websites with content; websites without content don’t get a good PageRank. But, to get back on track, so far I’ve found two decently ranked RSS directories you can use to submit your website for free and get potential visitors as well as a better rank.

The first one is named FeedBomb, you can view a little demo of Leftblank there as well, this directory has a PageRank of 5 on their frontpage and 3 on most of the subpages. You’ll be automatically approved and submitted, reviews are done afterwards. This makes it a quite easy and fast site to use, no direct links are given to your website besides the ones on the list of your feed items; these are deeplinks and might be a little inefficient, it’ll give results for sure though.

The second RSS directory I’ve found is named FeedBoy this directory also has a PR of 5, making it a pretty interesting website. Unlike FeedBomb, the first one, this website does put you in a moderation queue before showing up in the list, this makes it a little more reliable as no automatic submissions can be made. Just like FeedBomb no direct links are given on the lists, but new items are featured on the frontpage, giving you the chance of receiving a lucky PR 5 link.

You can also find thousands of other website directories on the web, but these two are a nice and decent start as they’re free and easy to submit your website to, perhaps I’ll post more on other kinds of web directories later.

    But the links look a little strange: “RSS directory”>FeedBomb”
    – are you using some acronym plug-in?

    You need to remove the “…acronym title=”RSS Really Simple Syndication”…” part of those 2 links.
