Hitflip – Online trading place for movies & audio

Hitflip, formerly known as ‘Swopex’, is promoting their website a lot right now, so this is a little review of their brand new music exchange website. On the first sight I didn’t really consider this website ‘interesting’; why bother to exchange when you can buy all these goods on eBay or in-store for low prices as well?

However, when you take a closer look, especially at the costs involved, you’ll notice it will easily become interesting to send in some movie or CD you don’t like anymore and get a ‘new’ one in return. According to their FAQ the actual prices differ between items, some seem to come with higher risks or simply lower value, which will require you to pay more. The entry also states though that usually it’ll cost you as little as 79 cents (pounds), a very nice value for money rate.

    Hitflip sounds ok. Personally I found a great website based in the UK. Its called http://www.swapshop.co.uk and is very similar to Hitflip. It has pretty much all the features of Hitflip but also has some features that make it stand out. Some of these are Hitflip predetermines the value of each item you would like to swap. Swapshop allows you to choose any value. Hitflip does not allow you to display what condition the item is in. Swapshop does. This is important as you are requesting second hand items most of the time. The best feature however is that as you can see above Hitfip charge £0.79 per swap. Swapshop charges nothing. It is completely free to swap!
