Home sweet home – finally back from my Barcelona trip
It took somewhat longer than expected but I’m finally back here in the Netherlands now. During the past week I’ve been walking around in Barcelona, visiting most of the interesting and culturally interesting museums and hot spots around there, including Gaudi stuff, the Dali theater-museum, Camp Nou and various other spots – a very interesting city with friendly people and super clubs and disco’s.
Sadly the way back – using a bus, 20 hour drive – didn’t go as well as the travel a week earlier did. Apparently the company that handled the bus travelling, “Muys Reizen”, didn’t mind sending us a 14 year old bus lacking the required security measures and motivation to carry on: One of the emergency hatches was blown away during a ride earlier, the cooling of the bus and the engine crashed with as bonus one of the tires didn’t quite enjoy the ride.
Bottom line; we had to wait for roughly 5 hours in the middle of the night till taxis arrived and took us to an hotel. I’d strongly advise everyone not to use “Muys Reizen” as their quality is terrifying, and so is their ability to solve problems on the fly; rather than sending us a new bus the director suggested we’d drive on as, according to him, the bus was perfectly safe and it was our own fault it crashed.
