Backgammon Masters offers rakeback-free online poker
When playing poker online – or in a casino for that matter – you might notice there is a certain ‘fee’, often named ‘rake’, that will have to be paid over the money won while playing. Usually that is to cover the costs of the host, being it an internet or gaming host, as with poker you play against players and not the house, else no money would go to them. The drawback of this for modern players seems clear of course; you lose up to 20% of the cash won while playing poker or backgammon to the owners of the game.
Backgammon, perhaps one of the oldest games played on the web – already started ‘real time’ in 1992 – might be a bit of a boring game these days. I must say I’ve played it a couple of times using Microsofts fantastic MSN Games thing, and I didn’t quite like it; too much randomness involved. Though, I did enjoy playing poker for fun – sadly I’m not even nearly good enough to do some ‘real’ income generation with it, only few are it seems.
The website Backgammon Masters, who as their name suggests mainly focused at backgammon until now, is trying to change this by offering rake free games. Like I wrote earlier the advantage of it is pretty clear; you can earn more money and perhaps the average amounts the players play with is also lower due to that, allowing you to play longer before losing all your funds – or less time before cashing out the money.
Luckily there is no drawback involved – for now – as they’ve explained it’s a limited time offer, so perhaps you will lose some in the future, hopefully it wont be a too big price for the money saved now. As the hosting website will have to make money in some way you might be facing advertisements, though that’s not nearly as bad as actually paying cash!
