The growth of my blog continues – February income recap
I’ve written a lot about making money online, advertising your weblog and monetizing it, however, nothing is better to post than your own experience. That’s exactly what I’ll post here.
Even though February has three days less than the month January, of which I reported my income as well, I’ve managed to increase my blog income this month, compared to last one. I must say I was impressed by this myself when I started calculating the predictions a few days back.
The overview is slightly different for this month though – not all my income came from PayPerPost. The reason of this is mainly, not to say totally, because of the experimenting with LoudLaunch, another company that offers sponsored posting opportunities.
In addition to LoudLaunch I’ve also been – silently – experimenting with AdBrite, these results aren’t too shocking so far yet though; the $.50 revenue this generated isn’t quite worth mentioning yet, perhaps it’ll be better this March though.
Let’s start with the big numbers now though. My income for January was exactly $318.55, minus the $10 I ‘invested’ to promote my website in a text link ad on another weblog it’s all profit – not bad at all for a weblog I consider my hobby.
My income for February is as following (all in US dollars):
- PayPerPost: $440.60
- LoudLaunch: $15.00
- AdBrite: $0.50
- Total: $456.10
I can already hear a couple of jaws dropping, but keep in mind this amount is for a complete month. Last month I’ve written a total of 94 posts last month, which does taker a lot of time every day, perhaps an hour or two. Most likely I’d have written at least half of these without compensation as well. Because of that most people, even me, consider this easy money – of course it’s easy, but it’s not ‘getting rich sleeping’, a way some people might to see it.
You might become interesting in blogging after you read this, but let me give you one big tip, don’t start blogging simply because of the money. Sure, it’s a nice motivator, but without any interest you’ll most likely produce boring texts and give up sooner or later.
In case you do want to start with it, and you consider yourself ’strong’ enough to do so, you might also want to take a look at some of my older posts. One of these posts is ‘12.5 Steps to make at least 150$ a month with your blog‘, which explains the perhaps easiest and most efficient ways of making money with your blog, without scaring your visitors away too much.
