What will PayPerPost announce in a few weeks?
A new and pretty surprising opportunity showed up on PayPerPost, a company focussed at blog advertising ran by and for bloggers. This opportunity stated ‘There is some big news coming in the near future… can you guess what it is?’ and it seriously got me wondering what PayPerPost could be launching in the next few weeks.
PayPerPost is pretty much know for their trendy ways of working. A nice example of that was the acquiring of Performancing.com (offline as I speak write) some weeks back; it stayed completely off the ‘media radar’ until they wrote about it in an email to all clients and ‘posties’. Later they’ve had deals with companies such as HP to let all interested posties make videos and post them on YouTube giving the bloggers both a lot of exposure for their weblog as well as having a chance of winning a set of HP hardware – a wonderful deal.
So, after all these pretty interesting things, what could be next? My first thought was it could involve a combination of PPP and Performancing, perhaps allowing advertisers to pick blogs after seeing the statistics generated by the ‘disclosure button’ (the one like below this post), as this was one of the features Performancing.com offered. It doesn’t sound shocking enough though, it doesn’t sound shocking at all; no one besides advertisers and those who already blog for PPP would notice it.
What could be it? I’m pretty sure it has to do something with the broader public, all the ‘potential bloggers’ that are out on the streets without even knowing they might make money blogging. I also assume that part of this ’shocking news’, or at least ‘big news’ will involve more advertisers. It might be wishful thinking, but PPP can’t grow without seeing more opportunities show up on their website, especially during the weekends or daytime in Europe there is barely anything to pick, somewhat of a shame.
My final guess will be that they might start advertising on TV, made a deal concerning their real life series ‘Rockstartup‘, perhaps with YouTube, perhaps with a regular TVstation, maybe even a written media – I just have a feeling it concerns attracting more users, as that’s the thing they’ve been discussing a lot in their RockStartup episodes. I might be totally wrong though, I’m pretty sure I am – we’ll see in a couple of weeks!
